The sadness of death should give way in our liturgy to the promise of resurrected life. Our celebration of a person’s life should reflect our conviction that in Jesus Christ we have life beyond life. 
The Church takes very seriously its responsibility to offer corporal works of mercy, and these include the proper burial of the deceased.  Therefore, St. Joseph's Parish in Stratford, Texas offers its parishioners and friends the complete funeral rite as a means of consolation for the living and grace-filled assistance for the deceased.
These sacred rites, which are most properly celebrated in the parish church of the deceased, include a vigil at the church or mortuary, a funeral Mass at the church , and interment of the body or inurnment of ashes.
Funerals are normally held Monday through Saturday at times depending on Fr. Hugo's and church availability. A vigil is normally held the afternoon or evening before, at the church or at the funeral home.

EXEQUIAS/FUNERALES
La tristeza de la muerte debe dar paso en nuestra liturgia a la promesa de la vida resucitada. Nuestra celebración Liturgica de la vida de una persona debe reflejar nuestra convicción de que en Jesucristo tenemos vida más allá de la vida terrenal.

La Iglesia se toma muy en serio su responsabilidad de ofrecer obras corporales de misericordia, y estas incluyen el entierro adecuado de los difuntos. Por lo tanto, la Parroquia de San José en Stratford, Texas ofrece a sus feligreses y amigos el rito funerario completo como un medio de consuelo para los vivos y la asistencia llena de gracia para los difuntos.
